Garvan Gardens and some wild cypress
e visit Garvan Woodland Gardens, near Hot Springs, Arkansas, a botannical garden which is part of the University of Arkansas. Garvan Gardens, on Lake Hamilton is a treasure trove of rugged terrain, civilized by landscape architecture — with ease of access in mind. The botannical garden is rife with flowers, plants of all stripes and is interlaced with walking trails, bridges — and rest stops for those who wish to stop for a bit and peruse the peaceful beauty.
In contrast to this well organized and tended display of Arkansas flora, the last two pictures show us a wild growth of cypress off a bridge on Highway 167 in south Arkansas. Well organized and wild-and-wooly: In these scenes, Mother Nature is strutting some of her best stuff.
